Watching 'Alias' last night was funny. It seems to be getting ever so slightly 'X-files' like. There's even a smoking man and a paranormal research unit etc.

Big Brother was pretty cool too. I thought it was a great move for BB to nominate all the housemates! The talking in code stuff and the pack mentality stuff is not so fun to watch. They'll be two evictions on Sunday. I think I'll put in a call for Alex and another one for Nathan.

Saving money: sometimes the bills that you just automatically pay month after month could do with some attention. The admin aspects of looking after one's finances shouldn't be taken for granted and just overlooked. I just changed my phone plan over to a no plan, no contract 1c/s arrangement. See how that goes. Was paying close to $300 on my last mobile bill and I wasn't even making that many calls. The next bill will hopefully be a lot less.

Been pretty busy the last couple of months. Went to the Designex exhibition in Darling Harbour in April. There were quite a range of interesting products on display. I loved some of the lights especially including the bubble lamp and the mercury ball light from ECC. Went to hear Tyler Brule's (of Wallpaper* magazine) talk. He basically just went out and did it. He talked about taking and maintaining creative control and finding people to help him implement his vision so that the product doesn't get diluted by different design styles etc. He stays true to his core vision for the magazine.

Interviewed Sarah Breen (all round designer) in Balmain today. That was heaps of fun. Her graphic design pattern pieces look great and could be made into beautiful textile designs and wall coverings etc. Watch the features space for the interview and examples of her work - coming soon. Will transcribe the tape this coming week.

Been watching 'Big Brother' from the beginning this time round. I heard about all the hype surrounding the show last year but only caught the last episode. So I wanted to see what all the fuss is about. It's strangely addictive. Once I started watching, I found myself wanting to follow it and to see what happens to house mates and to see who gets evicted etc. Virtual social anthropology. I was surprised that Damien got evicted in the first week and also surprised that Turkan hasn't been evicted yet - considering that she seems to also want to leave the house so I figured that the public might also vote her out. But that is not the case - not so far anyway. As yet, I haven't cast a vote yet. I've only guessed one eviction correctly so far. That was Aaron.

Oh yeah and I watched 'Star Wars Episode 2' at midnight on Wednesday night. Loved it. Great action, great story, great everything!

There's a couple of cool magazines that I've seen recently at the newsagents. One's Mosquito with the tagline: life in a cynical age which covers music, fashion, art, style and design. The other is Lab magazine - website for this one is under construction at the moment. Currently reading 'Minding their own Business: How real life Australian entrepreneurs have successfully set up their small businesses' by Gloria Meltzer. The stories are interesting to read - like of like example case studies of how some of these people have done it.

My digital camera's not working :-(. Will have to get it fixed.

If you've never been to the North Sydney markets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, then make a note in your diary to stop by for some food the next time it's on. The food was really scrummy. Shared the Turkish Gozleme, Japanese tuna and corn pancake and some Dutch profiteroles with peaches and cream with butterscotch sauce all $20. Yum! Double Yum! They also have the lunchtime Noodle market on every Sunday - weather permitting and that's got less stalls then when it was on at night but the Gozleme stall is still there plus a few others.
