Weblog> March 2002 020331: Sun virtual
office I was trying out using a webcam with Harvey the other day. That was pretty fun. He had the webcam on him at another location but no decent microphone. The micophone on my computer is pretty good but I don't have a webcam. So one of us could hear the other and one of us could see the other. It was cool though. We set the whole thing up within minutes using Yahoo's messenger application. Had been busy developing the first issue of the 'Chaos Generation' fortnightly webzine. Launched it last Sunday 24 March 2002! Have been emailing it to friends etc and started to submit the site to search engines. Am finally going public with the site and zine. It's all very exciting! I'm learning heaps from the whole process. Suddenly I've got a zillion things to do: submitting to search engines, marketing, writing, designing, surfing the web for items to feature in upcoming issues and heaps more. Watched 'Popstars' and saw that Azaria was voted off this week. I've got a feeling that Chris Murphy will offer him a recording contract anyway when the whole Popstars thing is over. Azaria was my favourite. I thought he had a lot of natural presence and I enjoyed listening to his version of Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' song. The show should show more lengthy snippets of the contenders' performances - to enable the viewers to get a good opportunity to really listen to the performers' voices and watch their performances. 020320: Wed Saw 'Kate & Leopold' last night. This film makes it into my list of all time favourite soppy, cheesy romantic films. I loved every minute of it! Pity about the official website though. Surely they could've added a bit more information in there beyond the splash page and an excerpt to Sting's 'Until' song! Watched Jackie Chan's first movie 'Master With Cracked Fingers' recently. It was produced in 1971. I hadn't seen his very early films and watching him as a young actor was a little surreal. He looked and was so young in that film. It's interesting to see how it all started and then to see him in his latter films as a megastar, comedian and martial arts extraordinaire. It's pretty cool. You can check out his filmography at Rotten Tomatoes if interested. Came across the 'Overdue' cartoon strip. It's set in a library and it's a real fun read. It was started in Feb 2002 by Bill Barnes and Gene Ambaum (pen name). February
