I love the Betty Blue poster - the stylised French art look. Wired.com features a really beautiful piece of Flash animation in a similar style titled "Annie-Lou". The digital artist is Giuliano Valieri and you can also read a short interview with him at this site. He also has his own site at http://www.annie-site.com.

Found a link to a Flash version of the game Air Hockey via Zannah's weblog. I love this game in real life and now I can also play it on the computer.

In the October issue of Boss (comes free with AFR), there's an article on Paul Chiodo and James Tutton, both 29 - run Moonlight (music, magazines and outdoor cinema company). James said something pretty cool ie "We are our market - we are making what we want to see and hear...". (Couldn't find this article on the Boss website though).

Saw a 'Juice Station' stall for the first time yesterday at Centrepoint. It looks as though it is a very successful business. There are plastic containers of fresh fruit juices including: orange, apple, watermelon, orange and passionfruit and a few others. These were placed in their own flavoured section on ice and were going for $1 for a small one and $2 for a large one. The apple one was nice. The stall had a continuous flow of customers. There were three people working behind the counter: 1 person cutting up the fruit, 1person looking after things and 1 person serving customers. There was a few columns running up the wall with different coloured lids for the different juices in each column. There was also a large juice machine which was working non-stop.

Emag publishes an annual 30 Rising Stars under 30 article. This year's list includes a number of PhDs. In the words of advice part, a number of these people cite things like following your passion and believing in yourself etc. Sounds good to me.

What is a Level 5 manager and what are the qualities of a Level 5 manager that turns good companies into great ones? Jim Collins' new book Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap ... and Others Don't - due out in Oct will tell you but in the meanwhile, you can read this Business 2.0 article for some of the findings.

Want to win an Sony AIBO dog? Then find out the details and good luck. If I win, I'm going to take it into the office and have it running around near my cubicle space :-). Entries close 18 Oct.

The Sony Cineza Home Cinema PJ with memory stick VPLHS1 looks pretty cool. You can play videos, DVDs, computer games or display your digital photos on the big screen. All these features can be yours for $5995 Aus dollars.

After seeing the 'Legally Blonde' movie, I went to all these cutey shops, Hello Kitty outlets and even Paddy's Market to see if I could find a furry pink cover for my phone. But couldn't find one. I guess if I'm really keen, I could buy some of that furry fabric and then dye it pink and sew a cover for the phone and cut out holes for the numbers. I was thinking I could make a cover for my mobile phone. That'd be fun. It's amazing the cool soft toys and other things you can find at these shops. Anything ranging from Snoopy shot glasses to all sorts of bears and bunnies attached to keyrings and all sorts of cutey animal soft toys wrapped up in plastic and the shop smelling like moth balls.

Went to the Powerhouse museum today and checked out the Marc Newson exhibition. It's well worth a look. Some of his work looks very Jetson-like. Seeing the objects he's created up close is cool. You can also read all about the story behind the creation of each object and watch the video where he talks about his work. Objects on display include: ‘Lockheed Lounge’ and the neoprene-clad ‘Embryo’ chair. He also has a website at http://www.marc-newson.com.

Also saw America's Sweethearts. I enjoyed the film. Don't expect anything serious though. I'm a John Cusack fan so that probably made the film better for me. It's pretty predictable but does have some cool lines in it.

Webmonkey compares the following WYSIWYG web editors: Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, Microsoft FrontPage 2002, and 5 Adobe GoLive 5.0. BTW, Dreamweaver wins if you wanted to know.

Went and saw Legally Blonde tonight. It's my kind of film - light-hearted and fun, nothing too serious. I liked the pink furry phone she had and the white smiley cloud pyjamas.
