RedCarpet Night is a bi-monthly short film screening that raises money for non-profit organisations. This January we are raising funds for Queer Screen. Our program includes a diverse range of short films from local filmmakers. The titles we will be showing include: * Writer/director Miro Bilbrough’s beautiful cine-poem Urn; * Writer/director Rob Leggo’s slapstick romance High Street Love Story; * Director Andrew Lancaster’s and writer Brian Carbee’s coming out, getting out ‘mother-and-son’ comedy In Search Of Mike; * Kieran Galvin’s tragic tale The Burning Boy; * Director Wenona Byrne’s funny/sad story of family Saturn’s Return; * Writer/director Marie Craven’s delightful first-time school-girl crush narrative Blow; * Directors Andrew Soo’s and Julia Kalceff’s funny take on the lesbian relationship, nesting habits, jealousy and not-so well-adjusted paranoia, The Ex. RedCarpet Night is a unique concept for giving Australian filmmakers an opportunity to show their films in a non-competitive cinema environment. There is no entry fee and no genre criteria. All proceeds of the Sunday, 18th January screening will go to Queer Screen Limited, a not-for-profit community organisation that brings you Sydney's annual Mardi Gras Film Festival, the queerDOC festival and the My Queer Career filmmaking competition. The screening will be held 7.15pm at the Valhalla Cinemas on Glebe Point Road, Glebe. Pre-sale tickets are available through the Queer Screen Office on 02 9332 4938. All tickets are $13. No concessions available. No booking fee applies. Festival classification exemption applies with 18+ years old entry only.
