Abby Dobson (ex Leondardo's Bride) has released a new solo album titled Rise Up. She's a great singer, songwriter, performer, everything!

She'll be performing at the Vanguard in Newtown on the 1st and 2nd of November and at Ruby's Lounge in Melbourne on the 14th of November.

Went to the Stencil Festival exhibition in Chippendale last Saturday. Artists featured include: IMOK, Ape Seven, bfourb, Joshua Smith, Alison Telford, Reko Rennie-Guuybilla and others.

There is also a film night on Thursday 25th October showing Jisoe and Infamy, and a stencil art workshop from 12-3pm on Saturday 27th October and a few other things happening.

San Churro Chocolateria, Glebe 


San Churro

Tried out the San Churro Chocolateria in Glebe last week. The churros - Spanish donut sticks were served warm and crispy. We shared the tapas plate. There was a small pot of melted chocolate to dip the churros into. V.yummy. The truffles and mint chocolate milkshake were pretty yummy also. The place was totally packed out on a Saturday afternoon.

Not Quite Art - Marcus Westbury 


"The art show that believes there is life outside the galleries. Host Marcus Westbury, founder of the This is Not Art Festival in Newcastle and the former director of Next Wave Festival in Melbourne, investigates various artistic expressions- posing the question of whether these new forms of ‘art’ can legitimately be called art..."

Just watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. It's a three part series screening on Channel 2 at 10pm on Tuesday nights. Two more episodes to go.

The Rocks Market will be changing 


"After 16 years as a Sydney icon, The Rocks Market is being revitalised. Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is introducing fresh produce to create the city’s premier Farmers' Market, open only to genuine farmers and producers.

The Authority is also introducing a new directional Designers' Market which will showcase fashion, home wares, accessories, artwork and gifts. And the traditional area of The Rocks Market will be devoted to goods, products and services that are unique, authentic, high quality, inspiring, current, contemporary, relevant, customised, and Australian...

The Rocks Farmers' Market will commence trading on the second weekend of December 2007...

The revitalised Rocks Market will continue to operate every Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm, at the northern end of George Street, The Rocks.

Changes to The Market will be implemented by late January/early February 2008.
