Colin Brown of Arena Design Architects will give a free talk at the Building Bookshop. Colin was awarded the Environmental Commitment Award at the The Australian Timber Design Awards for 2006 for The Elf Environmental Learning Facility for Orange City Council.

Guest introduction by Tone Wheeler.

Music and Lyrics and other movies 

Recently saw Music and Lyrics with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. If you're in the mood for a fun, uplifting, cheesy romantic comedy, then go and see this movie. It won't disappoint.

Also saw Confessions of Pain starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Tony Leung. I liked how one scene was filmed in particular. They had Takeshi's character in the house thinking about how the murder took place. He was filmed in colour superimposed on the actual events of the scene in black and white. It was like he watching the murder scene.

Finally the Pursuit of Happyness. Will Smith was really good in this film. Interesting film.

Peter WIlson architect talk tonight 

"...architecture is a symbiosis of the conceptual and the pragmatic, of the everyday and the exceptional, of the radically different scales of urban planning, buildings, their immediate context, their spatially balanced interiors and the objects that render them not only useful but also comfortable.

Wow! That is architecture according to reknowned architects Bolles+Wilson. Australian born Peter Wilson is giving a talk next week (20 Feb, 6pm) at Sydney University in which he will show some of their recent work."
